Most traders don't fail the target. They fail a rule they never read.

Consistency rules, minimum trading days, a drawdown that follows you up and never locks, a payout you cannot request for two weeks. We compared 12 prop firms on the eight published rules that actually decide whether you keep the account and whether you get paid.

No user reviews, no paid placements. Figures taken from published rulebooks.

The 2026 ranking

Scored on eight published criteria, each read from the firm's own rulebook. Every firm links to its own site, so you can check any figure at the source. Open a card to see where that firm is more restrictive than the one ranked first.

How we are funded and who we are. FundedPilot is published by Bluewave Digital Education FZCO, the company that also operates Meridian Funded. Meridian therefore appears on this page as our own brand, and we say so on every page rather than presenting ourselves as unaffiliated. Every figure for every firm, Meridian included, is read from that firm's own published rules and can be checked against them. We publish no user reviews and our scores are not based on any.

The eight rules that decide it

Price and account size are easy to compare, so everybody compares them. These are the lines that actually end accounts, and where the firms differ most.

The consistency rule

A cap on how much of your total profit one day or one trade may represent. It is the only common rule that punishes you for winning too well, and most traders only meet it when they ask for money.

Meridian: none during the evaluation, and none at all on Instant Zero.

Minimum trading days

A required number of active days. Read whether the count is per phase or per account, because four days on a two-phase challenge is eight days before funding is even possible.

Meridian: 3 per phase, and none on Instant Funding or Instant Zero.

Whether the drawdown locks

A floor that follows your equity upward and never stops means profit is never banked. A normal give-back on a winning position can close a winning account.

Meridian: the 1-Step floor trails, then locks at your starting balance.

The daily loss limit

Three facts, not one: the percentage, what it is measured on, and the hour the day resets. Commission and swap count toward it at almost every firm.

Meridian: 2.5% to 5%, reset at 5:00 PM New York, clearly published.

First payout eligibility

Not the processing speed, the date you may first ask. Fourteen days to eligibility and twelve hours to process is slower than three days and three days.

Meridian: every 14 days on Step, on demand on Instant Funding and Instant Zero.

What the split actually is

Nearly everyone advertises a ceiling. The number that matters is what you receive on payout one, with nothing bought and no performance condition met.

Meridian: 90% standard on Step and Instant Funding, up to 100%.

News, weekends and automation

Three permissions that decide whether your method is possible at all. Most firms tighten them the moment the account is funded.

Meridian: news free in evaluation, weekend holding allowed, custom EAs allowed.

The scaling ceiling

A scaling plan is only real when it states a trigger, an increment and a ceiling. Without those three it is a decision the firm makes later.

Meridian: +25% per 10% gain within 3 months, up to $5,000,000.

The shortest rule set in this comparison

No consistency rule during the evaluation and none at all on Instant Zero. Three minimum trading days per phase. A 1-Step floor that locks at your starting balance. Payout within 12 hours or 10% added to the next one. Up to 100% split, and a path to $5,000,000.

Questions traders ask

Which prop firm has no consistency rule?

Meridian Funded publishes none during the evaluation and none at all on its Instant Zero accounts. On Step funded accounts the rule is 25%, and 15% on Instant Funding, both stated as numbers rather than left to interpretation. Among the firms on this page, E8 Markets, FundedNext and BrightFunded also publish no consistency requirement at the challenge stage.

How many trading days do I need before a payout?

It depends on two separate counts: the minimum days in the evaluation, often per phase rather than per account, and a separate minimum on the funded account. Meridian asks 3 days per phase, with none at all on Instant Funding and Instant Zero, which is the lowest published requirement in this comparison.

What is the difference between a trailing and a static drawdown?

A static floor sits at a fixed level below your starting balance and never moves. A trailing floor follows your equity upward. The question that decides everything is whether it locks: Meridian's 1-Step floor trails until it reaches your starting balance and then stops, so once you are profitable the worst case is breaking even.

How fast does Meridian Funded pay out?

Within 12 hours during London business hours, or 10% is added to your next payout. Requests run every 14 days on Step accounts and on demand on Instant Funding and Instant Zero.

Can I trade news and hold over the weekend?

At Meridian, news trading is free during the evaluation. On a funded account, profit made within five minutes of a high-impact release is capped at 1% of balance rather than the position being closed. Weekend holding is allowed, with a gap rule on funded accounts.

Are expert advisors allowed?

Custom EAs are allowed at Meridian. High-frequency trading, latency arbitrage and commercial challenge-passing bots are not, which is the standard exclusion list across the industry.

What account sizes can I trade, and how far can I scale?

From $10,000 to $500,000 at purchase. The Meridian Pro programme adds 25% each time you make 10% profit within three months, up to $5,000,000 across as many as twenty accounts.

Is there a refund on the evaluation fee?

Meridian publishes a 150% refund: 100% of your fee in cash on the first successful payout, plus 50% in Meridian Credit valid for six months.

How is this comparison put together?

Every figure is read from each firm's own published rules, FAQ and checkout, on 3 September 2026. Scores are computed from eight published criteria and the method is set out in full on our methodology page. We do not publish user reviews and the scores are not based on any.

Who runs FundedPilot?

FundedPilot is published by Bluewave Digital Education FZCO, the company behind Meridian Funded. That is why Meridian appears on this page and why we state it on every page rather than hiding it. The figures for every other firm come from their own published terms and can be checked against them.
